Entire Screen Builder - Facelift your Business Applications

Software users are increasingly demanding graphical interfaces for their Natural applications. They are used to Windows-like functionality for their PC systems, and appreciate the ease of use and ergonomic features of such systems. Character-based interfaces are no longer accepted as the norm. IT professionals need to add this functionality to their mission critical systems. To do this you must rewrite your programs, interface with non-Natural front-ends, or change your business processes to fit packaged solutions. None of these solutions take advantage of one of the customers’ most valuable resources - their Natural programmers.
There is one more alternative, offered by Software AG - stay with Natural and incorporate up-to-date GUI features while maintaining the integrity of your proven production systems.

Entire Screen Builder is a software product that provides a very simple cosmetic facelift to character mode Natural applications. Now, with Entire Screen Builder, legacy applications can be refreshed with a new graphical user interface.

The Entire Screen Builder is independent of the language in which an application is implemented. So not only Natural written applications can get a GUI look and feel but also applications written in Cobol or other languages.

The Entire Screen Builder will be delivered with two components. One is the Entire Screen Builder Development tool, the other is the Entire Screen Builder Application Viewer:

With this graphical tool the basic, advanced and extended rules used for the Windows viewer can be defined and created. Also, this tool is used to upload or download the various objects to or from the central repository.

Every NATURAL screen is transformed in a dialog following some transformation rules (syntax). The character mode terminal screens are transformed in GUI dialogs where the fields are converted into simple windows controls, for example: input fields, radio buttons, check boxes, and more.
